No not really but it was a fantastic book. My grandmother is half-Japanese but I don't know anyone else in our family any farther back than her - her mother died a while back, after moving to Hawaii. So I might have had some relatives suffer through that, but I don't know for sure.

But it was a great book ... very sad.
