Mumbled phrase in song 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins?
In the song "1979" by the smashing pumpkins theres a mumbled line thats repeated throughout the song, kindof like an echo in the background. I know this is probably way off but the closest I can make out it seems like the voice is saying "ten of me".
Does anyone know what this correct line is? BTW I have checked lyric sites but every lyrics page for the song that I've seen don't have the line I'm referring to.

Ann, the phrase I'm hearing sounds like a human voice although not doubting some guitars can come close to that...

At the 9 second mark and the 16 second mark the phrase I'm talking about is said in the background. This is before the lead singer starts singing. This same phrase is repeated throughout the song.

Guitar reverb.
it could be takin' or take it and in my opinion, the reason it is so hard to distinguish, it has been through a synthesizer

found the song that I had heard in Wal- mart and it drove me crazy trying to find it. I clicked on the link and there it was !! Thank u !!!
