As my tummy grows... will it grow into a hard "bump" or will it grow under the fat in my belly and just make me look even more fat? I hope this question makes sense...

I was a size 12/14 when I got pregnant with my son and I didn't really look pregnant until about 5-6 months along.
BTW: I am also 5'3"

i was 5'6" and a size 11 before i was pregnant. I'm now 7 months (28 weeks) and when I'm wearing clothes my stomach looks round and hard like a pregnant person but if i lift up my shirt the bottom part of my stomach still looks flabby. i hate it. everyone is different though. I've seen women a lot fatter then me have rounder harder stomachs them me. you'll just have to wait and see.
there's a website where you can look at pregnant peoples tummies for fun. i forget what it is but if you type in pregnant belly pictures in your yahoo search it should come up.

I'm the same scale as you, all women carry differently. I am 8 weeks with no3. It eventually grows into a hard belly around 6 or 7 months, I looked fatter because it does tend to push the fat out until the skin starts to stretch as it gets bigger it gets tighter.

I was a size 11/12, and am 5'4 when I was pregnant with my first...I didn't really start showing until about 6 months, when my stomach definately started to feel hard. Now I am 20 weeks pregnant with my second, and altought my stomach still feels a bit "flabby" (thanks! baby #1) when I lay down on my back I can definately feel my stomach hardening...so I know it won't be long until all my stomach will feel hard. I am just now starting to have people ask me how far along am I. Also, I think that unless you where obese (which sounds like youre not)...you should definately start looking pregnant by your 6th month. Congratulations!!

probably a little of both. I would say the bigger you are the longer it takes (in many cases) to show but this is not always true. Even for very thin people, though...most of the time you just end up looking chubby before pregnant. You will look visibly pregnant by the end though

I wore a size 12 when I got pregnant (I'm 5'4") and I definitely looked pregnant and not fat.

By about the 5th-6th months it will be a hard ball.
