I very rarely wear them. Classic designer purses are usually worth the money, because they hold together so well, but I don't go for the "trendy, of the moment" look because why shell out that kind of money for something that's not "of the moment" a few months later?
I never wear designer sunglasses, not worth the dough. I have a pair of Coach sunglasses that are "second hand" or whatever.. the ones with the teeny flaws that aren't "good enough" to be sold in Coach stores so they sell them at greatly discounted rates. Mine has one teeny jewel missing from the stem, paid $20 for them.
Clothes, it all depends on the brand. I don't see anything wrong with paying for classic basics in designer brands (although I'm a single mother, can't do that) that hold together well. For the most part, you're just paying for the name though, you can do just as well in department stores.

Everyone probably has two or three brands that they know and like and other brands that they don't get along with. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it will be better for YOU.
I've had so many pairs of diesel jeans but none of them fit perfectly. I'm gonna stay away from them in future. on the other hand a cheaper brand called "3GUYS" makes jeans that fit perfectly and are half the price.
Brand clothes are definately good, but know which brands are good for you - its not always the most expensive.

I think that some designer clothes are worth the money. If it is an individual, unusual piece with a lot of detail and work on it, then it does merit a higher price. The cut and quality etc of these type of pieces is often worth it. However, some of what is called 'designer' is simply a cheaply made garment with a large logo on it. I think the best designer clothes are those without the huge label that screams 'i paid lots of money for this.'

A classic, designer item is definitely worth it. Something that you could wear a lot but be able to change it up with accessories. But something that is, for lack of a better word, "hot" this season is better off purchased inexpensively. Such as the Tory Burch ballet flats, when is anyone ever going to wear those again. Although they are of nice quality, they had their time in the spotlight and now you just look stuck in last season's style if you do wear them. Some of my favorite designers to splurge on are Micheal Kors, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren. I always find myself grabbing their classic items out of my closet and matching them up with a new trend.

From the point of view of a man a resounding NO.
Reason it is not that the money is begrudged but the fact that it will be worn once or twice and disregarded. The quality of the cloth is often poor and things like hems and buttons are more likely to come off. I would not argue with the traditional forms of dress but the trendy up to the minute ones.
I expect the ladies will now have murder in their hearts

well fashion happens in all price ranges. you can look good without breaking the bank.
if you feel the need to slurge however, my advice is to splurge on the right pieces. Go for something that will stand the test of time, not the pic of the day. Go for a great neutral piece that can be mixed and matched with many different items in your closet. A nice pant or a great winter coat. Something you can really put to good use and get the bang for your buck.

Only classic things, not the trend of the moment. Trendy expensive clothes are not practical for the every day woman.
Classic cuts in a high quality make are a great addition to a wardrobe.

IMO, not really. I'm not into any designer, unless you count Hollister, AE, and Aeropostale "designer". They really aren't, imo, and I have small amounts of them in my wardrobe.
I like Bebe and that's about it. I have an off-the shoulder top and a fancier dress top from there and that's also about it.
I prefer not going designer. Anything above this is way too expensie for my liking, even if I could afford it, I'd rather not. Maybe a funky purse (not something boring and too adult like) every now and again, but for now, I'll stick with stuff I really like. :)

i never wear them i dont think its worth getting something so expensive from like gucci that i could get the same exact thing at another store for like $200 less im a casual person and shop at affordable and unique stores and you dont have to spend so much to get compliments. that stuff from the designers may still not be "in" next year so whats the point? classic pieces never go out of style.
