There are the aunts that consumed an entire tube of toothpaste together as children. 1 clown. 2 ex-clowns. 3 semi-truck drivers. 3 people that specialize in grave-digging. A mother that doesn't allow her 12 year old to watch The Little Mermaid because she's "not old enough." Grandpa so paranoid that I'm not allowed to use his microwave, nor can I go near the sink. It's dangerous.

I did. Until I realized Hey these people ignore me the rest of the time so what's the point? Why bother going to a family gathering once a year when I don't exist to them the rest of the time. Whats the point? I don't get it. I figure if they want to see me they know where I'm at. If not then why bother. Seems like a waste of time to sit at some once a year dinner with people who have nothing to do with me the rest of the time. They must not like me because if they did they would see me more than once a year. So it makes no sense to go.

I'd rather spend a day with Ozzy Osbourne in Hell than go to one of my family gatherings. Everyone just sits around & see who can talk over each other & act like we actually like each other but all we are really doing is going because there's free food & we don't want to look like a**holes & get cut off, lol.

Crowded, we have a large family, lots of food, things usually go relatively smoothly!! We've had a few that have gotten a little too interesting for my taste but that's the ups and downs of life!!

They are cool. Every one makes a dish [usually for the holidays] and then we just sit around and eat, talk, joke....just the fun stuff. We play games to, usually card games. If it is during the summer...we have a BBQ and go swimming at this one park!!!

Alot of us are in that same boat. For our family gatherings, it is just me, my husband and kids, maybe a couple of friends. The rest of the family are not invited as we can't take the drama and bulls.... involved.
