I already changed my licencse...and am going to Social Security on monday...what else do I have to do?

Congratulations. Now for your answer, don't forget your bank accounts, personal letterhead, passport, insurance cards (health,auto,life), and work information (business cards, letterhead and payroll information).

No. People think they need lawyers to change their names. They don't. Just change it with Social Security, start using it and, bam! you're all set.
If you have long-standing credit card accounts, it's a good idea to keep them in your maiden name if that's how they were set up. Same thing if you've owned real property in your maiden name. You really do want to have your own (good, I assume) credit rating as an individual if you ever find yourself on your own.

It might be different for every state, but those are the only two things I had to change. Maybe call the license bureau and ask them what you need to do. Congratulations and best wishes for many, many happy years of marriage!

Checking/Banking accounts, order new checks, Life insurance policies, car insurance, house paperwork (mortgage, deed), rental papers , car registration,

you have to get a new ss# by calling the nearest office by you.and they we change your name 4 u
