My friend goes to college and she just called me almost in tears. She is half filipino and half white. She told me last night while at a party her roomate scoffed at a black girl making out with a white guy and remarked "I hate this ****, if this **** keeps going on pretty soon the white race will die out!" Later that evening the girl cried to my friend and confessed that she is not going to take it back because she thinks its true. And that she is sorry but she is going to think whatever she wants.

I kind of want to punch that racist ***** in her face, but her college is too far away. My friend doesn't know what to do, she's mixed so basically her roomate thinks her existence is a problem.

What are your thoughts about this? Should my friend pack up her things and find a new place? What should she say to her roomate to get her to wise up? Or should I go up to the college and punch her lights out hahahaha

I feel your anger. I am Half American Indian and white. I have two little girls that are Honduran on their dad's side. What can I say but there are some stupid *** people in this world. I'd tell your friend not to pack up stay right where she is and if that racist cow has a problem with her race she can leave. And I'd tell your friend not to back down or be intimated by this idiot. Tell her to stand her ground and tell this moron there are mixed people all over this world and she better just get used to it because we aren't going anywhere. In fact, there are hundreds of us mixed people born everyday. Her roommate was probulary into the white guy kissing the black girl and it made her mad and then she started running her mouth with that racist garbage. Tell your friend good luck and stay strong.

well obviously your friend needs your support, and unfortunately, the roommate isnt the only racist person on the planet, and like you said, you cant butt in every time one of your friend needs help.

first of all your gonna have to cheer your friend up and explain to her that the world can be cruel sometimes and that its not her fault.

Second of all, someone has to leave the apartment and i would rather see the racist roommate do so. Use the power of words, help your friend stand up for herself and kick the roommate out of the apartment.

last but not least, have your friend punch the roommate in the face on her way out for ya.

I think your friend should look for a new place to live if she's uncomfortable staying there. There's little she can do to change her roommate's mind. It's possible that a developing friendship with your roommate might help to change this girl's mind, but it's her decision.

Your violent urges will only serve to prove the roomate's reasoning correct, not that her concerns require your validation. They most certainly do not.

You and your "friend" need to learn to be more tolerant. Perhaps councelling would help you control your irrational hatred of people who hold beliefs that are different from your own.

I would pack up and leave. You can't change a racist person views if they don't think they are wrong.
