Keep pushing the liquids and not sugary liquids. Lots of water. Diarrhea can be a form of dehydration. All though it might be from teething I would still try the liquids. Also if he still has it for a couple of more days I would ask to see the dr. again then if they don't see him or say something take him somewhere else! Good luck!

Is it really diarrhea or is it loose? Diarrhea would be mucousy, more frequent than usual pooping and REALLY smelly. If it's just mushy, then it sounds like it could be teething. When my baby was cutting her first teeth she was drooling tons and had weird poops that I thought were diarrhea. It lasted maybe a week, I think?
If it really is diarrhea, though, let your doc know and if you get the brush off, definitely find another HCP.

I agree with the 2nd opninion. If he had a cold he could have diarrhea for a couple weeks. If he is still active and happy he is probably fine. Just make sure he is probably hydrated. Feeding him rice cereal may slow it down a bit.

You need to see another doc. To keep up hydration you may want to look into giving him Pedialyte. He may have an allergy to the food he is eating. Then make sure that what you think is a runny stool is actually a runny stool when it refers to babies. Sometimes it isn't as bad as it seems. But you need to know for sure first.
P.S. I just remembered the poo rule: For diarrhea give cereal (oatmeal) mixed with baby food bananas. For constipation mix cereal (rice) with baby food apples.

This is why you sign up with a good pediatrion. he will have a baby nurse on hand to assess the situation. Any doc you have should too, and get one that has clinic open on weekends. I wouldn't go a week without asking nurses advise. I'd be using pedilite to keep up hydration (at grocery store) anyway don't wait to long to get the baby to the doc.

Make sure he stays hydrated by giving him pedialyte. Teething makes babies drool and that is irritating his little stomach. Just make sure to keep him changed and put some A&D ointment on his behind to soothe the soreness.

Have you been feeding him solids? It might be he is having a reaction to something he has eaten? You might want to consider getting a 2nd opinion.
