A Genuine Christian is someone who is Christ like, they have the same characteristics as He does. You can see Christ at work in their life and in the way they treat others and their behavior.

I like to believe that I am a Christian and/or attempt to lead a good life. Although not a church goer I do attempt to help my fellow man without expecting a reward for doing so. I also try and be as honest and forthright as possible, be a good friend and a good example to others. But others I'm certain would disagree with my definition of a Christian and state that I am merely trying to justify my actions of not attending mass. I certainly do believe in a power greater than myself but am not convinced 100% of biblical teachings and/or God. There are so many religions (and a lot of them older then Christianity) so who is to say what is right and what isn't. Providing you lead a good life and do try and help out others what is more Christian.

. You can talk to HIM any time, any where. It doesn't have to be in a Church or pointed in a specific direction. If you have faith in what you were taught and in your heart believe what you feel is right about the old and new testaments. This is not saying you can't question anything , but the ability to accept it. You don't need to carry a Bible around and answer in quotes to be a good christian, just follow in HIS Footsteps, help others when you can . It is just being a good person without malice to others for their beliefs.to me , this is a good Christian

A genuine Christian is a person that believes Jesus Christ died for their sins and that he arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. A Christian tries to live a life as Christ did, without sin. A Christian tries to help others. A Christian loves and prays. Please read John 3:16 and Romans 9. This will help. God Bless.

Someone who has been "born again" according to what Jesus taught in John chapter 3.
Someone who has been "converted" according to what Jesus taught in Matthew chapter 18.
Someone who has "received Jesus Christ" as their Lord and Savior, according to John chapter 1 verses 12 and 13.
This does not include anyone whose reason for claiming to be a Christian is because either:
a. They claim they were born into a Christian home
or
b. They claim to have been baptized or sprinkled when they were a child.
Unless of course, those in the above two groups have, later in life, have been born again, converted and received Jesus Christ as described in John chapter 1.
They must confess Jesus as their Lord with their mouth and they must believe that Jesus has risen from the dead. According to Romans 10:9-10.
The largest group of false Christians, are those who were born into families which had their children "Baptized" or "Christianed" when they were infants or small children.
And the sad thing is that they don't realize that this is the case, they really believe that they ARE Christians because of the ceremony their parents put them to while they slept.
This is exacly how I was raised myself.
My parents were actually furious with me, when, while I was in high school, I began to tell people that I had just become a Christian.
My Dad claimed to be totally embarassed because he was a trustee at the "family Lutheran church" down the street.
My heart breaks for those who were told since they were knee high to a grasshopper that, "You are a Christian".
I raised my children to know that they were sinners and needed to learn who Jesus is and that He died for your sins and that you need to decide, if you want to, to ask Jesus to forgive their sins.
All of my children, accepted Jesus before they started school.
To learn how to be "born again" or "converted" and "receive Jesus" see the links below.

Someone who actually believes in the Bible in daily life, not just sunday.
Very few of them exist.
Of course most of my friends are not genuine christians but you'd be hard-pressed to find people any kinder, smarter, etc.
Being Christian has nothing to do w/morals.
And one could argue there are some bad...examples...in the Bible.
However, that IS the definition of genuine Christian.
Although you could argue it is a belief in Jesus, and not the Bible.

Well, I must use my sister as an example for me.
When life gets too tough, i call her, and she talks to me, then may say let's pray if YOU WANT, never forces me to do anything that she may think I don't want to do.
She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it, and no matter if she's having a bad day or not, she's always got time for me.
So a genuine Christian to me is:
NONjudgemental, tries to make you believe in yourself when you don't helpful, loves ya even if ur wrong or has made a mistake, listens, and cries with ya, or laughs at things SHE THINKS SHE KNOWS about you..lol, and never forgets to put God first in your mind because sometimes we forget, praying really works, even if she backslides!!
Offers to pray for you or with you when you're stubborn about it at times!

Walking in the will of God.
Taking up your cross daily, confessing Jesus Christ is Lord.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues
they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover

i would think.. a christian that truly believes.. that they are doing what is best... in the best manner..that they can. also a genuine christian does not point fingers at others. a true christian.. may praise their GOD.. but not at the expense of rediculing others. .or judging. we are responsible for saving our own souls. ..and answering for ourselves.
