So yesterday I was driving and the traffic was kind of slow moving, you know, stopping and going, and I didn't hit the brakes fast enough and hit the bumper of this other lady's car. Luckily neither one of us were hurt and we got each other's information and I agreed to file the accident report and turned it in to the police.

We didn't get estimates, we just wrote that the damage to each of our cars was over $1000, the police officer said it wasn't a big deal if it turned out being under $1000, so I just don't know what happens now with insurance, I don't care about the damage to my car its just cosmetic and can't afford to fix it right now but I want to make sure that she can get her car's damage repaired through my insurance so we can just put this behind us. What do I need to do now?

Just report the accident to your insurance company. The claims department will handle everything. You will not have to do anything further.

You contact your insurance company and they will tell you what to do.
