Everyone always talks about how they should be illegal. What do you think would happen to America if they were. I think there would be both positive and negative effects. What types of effects do you think would happen? What is your opinion?

The same thing that happened when all the other drugs became illegal, nothing. People still use and the government will never make tobacco illegal because of the financial revenue they get for it by taxing it.

well the simple fact is that Tobacco is used in several religious rituals. so is protected under freedom of religion.
the same reason that Peyote and Salvia are legal will protect Tobacco.
if they make Tobacco illegal. it will simply go underground like Alochol did in the 30's.
but the other side of that is that for this to happen they would first have to abolish the freedom of religion in this country.
and that would lead to another civil war

The same thing would happen back in the Prohibition Era. That is why it will not be illegal.

"IF" it happened, the nicotine patch prices would soar. Buy nicotine patch stock if it does become illegal.
So what will happen when pot becomes legal? You think the crime rate would go down?

We would in the USA, have more people in jail.
We already have the largest per-capita population in prisons, what's wrong with a few million more?
