I've written for years. I only recently began networking (verrry slowly), since I'm still writing. I've taken a few courses, and now I blog (www.inkrecitals.blogspot.com). I'm wondering...is it better to write and then network; network and then write; do both at the same time? What would be a good balance? 50/50?

Writing comes first. It's bad form to talk up a project you haven't completed yet.

That's a very smart question.

Obviously, networking is necessary these days if you want to get published, so I would thing at least 50-50.

As a writer myself,I would say,"write first"get a handle on how you want to use your "voice"before you begin to invite critisism of any kind, let's face it,there are plenty of people who,for thier own selfics reasons would tell you they either didn't like your effort or worse, that you simply"a lousy writer"time enough for the trolls later!Get it all on paper first&don't ever,EVER take somone else's pulse to find out how YOU feel about the work
