Absolutely, I trust few people, the one's I do trust know I trust them so automatically saying that phrase causes me great worry.

Yes. As soon as I hear the words "Trust Me" ... it's like a signal to start being cautious ...
However, if someone says, "Whatever you do ... don't trust me" ...
I'd follow that person to the ends of the Earth and back again

Consider the source.
If that's coming from someone who's judgement I typically trust, fine. From a stranger or person of weak character, I'd respond, "my trust has to be earned."
