Responsibility.

2007-09-15 08:03:10 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 6 2

I am a conservative because I believe in the Constitution. I find it both amusing and alarming that so many on the left bleat constantly about Bush trampling on the Constitution, yet those very same people want to violate *my* 2nd Amendment rights.

I am a conservative because I don't live in a dream world, where all wildlife frolic together and have a joyous time. I believe firmly in proper forest and fish and game MANAGEMENT. That does *not* mean no hunting, no logging - it means responsible use of the renewable resources available to us.

I am a conservative because the left scares the absolute hell out of me. I've seen first -hand what rabid fanatics do to law-abiding hunters, trappers and dog mushers. It's a disgrace.

I am a conservative because I think appeasement is total BS and won't get us anywhere. We need a strong military, period. End of story. I firmly believe in, "walk softly and carry a big stick" but I also believe in actually *using* said stick if necessary.

I value the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.

I am responsible for my life and the repercussions of the choices that I make. If I fail or are successful, I can only blame myself.

I don't think the government should tell me what I am allowed to do. As long as I am not hurting anyone else, I should be free to make my own decisions about my life and my body ("my body" does not include a baby. That would be the baby's body).

I think the government should do the best of its ability to not interfere with success. (Excessive taxes, providing a life of government dependence, etc.)

I could keep going....but I don't want to write a novel.

Because I love America. Liberals always want to buck the system and believe the worst about America. I think we should always look at ourselves and make corrections if we have made mistakes, but I believe in America. We are the best nation on the earth. I believe in a strong military. Some liberals have suggested that we should not have a military. Is that not crazy? We would be taken over in an instant. These radical Muslims and others are not all candy canes and popcicles. They are mean and nasty. It is essential that we have and maintain a strong military. If you have something desirable others want to take it away.

well i'm not. i'm a libertarian. but i do agree with conservatives on most fiscal issues, like wanting lower taxes and keeping the government out of your bank account. i believe in the free market and capitalism because i believe in freedom, the freedom to be able to make good money and the freedom to be able to keep it and use it how i decide to, without some democrat or socialist trying to take it away from me when i put in the hard work to earn it. i also agree with conservatives on the 2nd amendment, because i believe in an individual's right to be able to defend themselves. the things i usually disagree with republicans and/or conservatives on are issues like gay marriage, global warming, and keeping minimum wage low.

Because their ideas make the most sense to me.

Punish violent/sexual criminals severely. Don't offer them therapy.

Protect the unborn. They are the most innocent.

Keep taxes reasonably low. When peoplem have more money, they spend more.

Law-abiding people should be allowed to own guns. Stricter gun laws hurt the good citizens and help the criminals.
