I'm not sure about the US - but I wouldn't be surprised as y'all are über-capitalist and anti-social-ist

I know it’s not true for Australia cos we’re not big on religion even though we have Catholic and SDA ‘private’ hospitals and many religious schools dominated by the Catholic system.
But 90% of our health systems and 75% of our education is provided by the state (aka the taxpayers).

So far as the political systems go - yes, historically the Left was driven by Catholics and the Right was driven by the Protestants.
Ever since the early 60s religion, or even education, has not played a large part in determining which of the main two parties one voted for.

I'm Christian and no I don't think that only Christians helped to build the political and educational system in this country. History shows us that many of the Christian founding fathers were financially backed by Jews who had a lot to gain from a system that would allow for Religious Freedom. However, I do believe that the political system in particular draws a lot from the Christian ideals.

How about Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, founder of the Harvard Law School and considered today to be the foremost of American legal writers? He wrote in 1833 “It is impossible for those, who believe in the truth of Christianity, as a divine revelation, to doubt, that it is the especial duty of government to foster, and encourage it among all the citizens and subjects. This is a point wholly distinct from that of the right of private judgment in matters of religion, and of the freedom of public worship according to the dictates of one’s conscience.”

Or what about the author of the McGuffey Reader, William H. McGuffey, who Abraham Lincoln referred to as the “Schoolmaster of the Nation,” ? He professed in 1853, “From no source has the author drawn more copiously than from the Sacred Scriptures…In a Christian country, that man is to be pitied, who, at this day, can honestly object to imbuing the minds of youth with the language and spirit of the Word of God.”

Also, Noah Webster, considered the "Father of American Scholarship and Education" (and the father of the American Dictionary) said, “In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed…No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”

If built the political and educational systems here in America, it's a screwed up system. The educational system is to busy turning our children into good employees instead of leaders.

My friend, you can't look upon a picture of George Washington without seeing him on his knees with his horse praying to God. This is the "Father of Our Country."

My friend, have you noticed the sayings cut into stone which are direct Scriptures from the Holy Bible which are in the buildings throughout Washington.

Have you noticed in the center of the sculpting in the Supreme Court is Moses with the 10 Commandments?

I ask you one question, why did we decide to begin public education? the answer is so the people could learn to read the holy Bible.

I ask you another question, have you read the original constitutions of the states? Are these written by people who sound like atheists?

I ask you another question, the date line at the bottom of the Constitution of the United State of America right before all the signatures, does it not read "in the year of our Lord" - Who was the Lord of our founding fathers? It was Jesus Christ their Savior and my Savior and Lord.

Just go back to the beginning of our country - The majority were christian. The main reason the first people came to this country was because of their need to be able to worship as they pleased. Everything was based around God as it should be. If Christians didn't build the educational systems then why was prayer such a huge part of school for so many years? Duh. And political............... In God we trust on every piece of money we handle. I think Christians had a lot to do with everything regarding our country. Slowly it is being taken away.

"O Lord, Almighty and everlasting God, by Thy
Word Thou hast created the heaven, and the earth,
and the sea; blessed and glorified be Thy Name,
and praised be Thy Majesty, which hath deigned to
use us, Thy humble servants, that Thy holy Name
may be proclaimed in this second part of the earth."

No the American nation was founded by atheists and deists. They were strong believers in the separation of the Church and State which is continually attacked by religions even today.
