Then cranks but will not turn over. It has spark, gets gas but will not start again. The following day it does the same thing.

Sounds like a carburetor or fuel pump problem. If you take the air filter off the top of your carb and add a tiny amount of fuel directly to the carb that should narrow the possibilities down a bit. If the car runs but dies when the fuel is consumed it would probably need a fuel pump. But check to see if the fuel lines are on properly and gas filter is not clogged. Gas filters frequently clog but can be cleaned or replaced easily.

Like the other person said try the gas thing, but it might be your gas module also my 89 Taurus acted up kind of like yours when I took it to the shop they put in a new module and it ran great after that. It cost me about 80.00 bucks for this a while back. Good luck.

Try spraying "quick start" in the air intake when it cranks but won't start. Also, recheck for spark using the tester below. I would put a fuel pressure shop test gauge on the fuel injection rail to actually measure the pressure to be 40 psi or so.

it could be old gas and or moisture in the gas tank, put some gas treatment in it and try that. when you start the car press on the gas pedal to keep the car running if possible so the treated gas gets to your motor. if that doesn't work after a few attempts then i would suggest draining your gas tank and put new gas in it.
