Rudolph Hess, the Deputy Führer from Nazi Germany and Hitler's right hand man, became the last prisoner to be incarcerated in the Tower in 1941 and the Krays were 20yrs later.

Yes they were for a short period, I was there last Thursday and in the tower is a detailed description of everyone who was held there. I was astonished to see it, but apparently for a short period ( if I remember rightly it was in the 1940's, but don't hold me to the date) they were held there.

O f course not - they were common criminals. Whatever gives you the idea that they were entitled to the privilege of being incarcerated in the Tower? That was reserved for enemies of the state!
