I really don't think that you can become pregnant or you could have your period if you are pregnant, because the baby would need the cushion in the uterus. You can't have your period while pregnant, because the blood would go to the baby. None.

You cannot be on your period and pregnant. Have you seen a doctor or midwife yet? If you are pregnant and bleeding it could be the spotting that happens when the egg implants, it could be a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy or nothing. When I was pregnant I bled and they never figured out why. You need to see somebody because if it is an ectopic pregnancy you could get very sick. If you don't want to be pregnant and you have had a miscarriage than going to the doctor will take a lot of your mind. Good luck!

Menstruation usually stops when a woman is pregnant. However, in some cases, a woman might have a period with less blood or that lasts fewer days than usual and still be pregnant. Your confusion is understandable because these signs can lead women to believe they are not pregnant. However, various kinds of bleeding can occur in early pregnancy. Women can get some spotting in their first trimester:

* when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus;
* if the pregnancy is abnormal in any way [i.e., ectopic pregnancy (implantation outside of the uterus, such as in a fallopian tube), a threatening miscarriage]; or,
* from bleeding as part of their menstrual cycle (this is extremely rare).

It is rare, but not uncommon for you to have period-like bleeding, while pregnant. Usually it is lighter than a normal period.

You may also bleed when the egg implants in the uterus, about a week or so after conception and this usually co-incides with when you would have been due a period.

You can still conceive when having a period, again rare, but not uncommon.
