Anyone can say anything but how do you know if they mean it? If they do something it shows that they care right? Cause it is harder to do something than to say something.

It depends what they " do ". Some people feel that just being with someone should be proof that they care. I've always believed that it's an equal balance of the two. If you want to back up your words then follow up with a small gesture; a kiss, a hug, etc. And " doing " doesn't have to be on a grand scale-- it can be anything from flowers to buying their favorite video or even doing their dishes! Sometimes small gestures speak the loudest to the heart.

True, but one must also consider the motive for a "do"..an action. Was the action taken with a reward or "payback" in mind, or was it truly a selfless action, done without expectations.
