You should awaken every morning with a sense of thankfulness. Pray to God and thank him for the greatest gift of all, "Life." Then go forward and use those five senses with which you have been so endowed. If you still are not grateful, nothing more can be said. Peace, Love and God Bless.

Seek and practice acceptance.
Do not yearn for what you do not or cannot have.
Recognize and revel in all the good things that you DO have.
Whoever said that "Happiness is not getting what we want, it is wanting what we have," was very wise indeed.
There is nothing wrong with planning or striving,of course, but do not be disappointed if your plans fall through or your striving falls short of it's goal. Recognize the value of the plans and the effort themselves. Learn the lessons that falling short can teach.
Focus on what is right and good and positive. Seek love, and give love. Find opportunities to share laughter.

The first for me was to stop qualifying happiness. True happiness implies that there is is 'false' happiness.
It's a simple concept. Change your perception and the world changes.

This is case of low self-esteem. Low self-esteem can be traced retrospectively in the self-talk. When one is aware of his/her self-talk, the talk one conduct with oneself, he/she can be pulled out from this trap of low esteem. A lot of things remain running in the reward system of the brain and it keeps reminding ourselves that we talk with ourselves. . This is automatic system and there is no filtering system of thoughts. Therefore we should be very aware what is saying to ourselves. Soliloquy is the causative factor. Please be aware of it. You must listen to audios containing material of how to handle self-talk, go to library or find any online resource from where you can get free access to personal development material. I can recommend you a book “self-talk solutions”. I am reading this book now a day and getting a lot. I extracted above comments from that book.
