Hee Hee Hee Yes but it was the other way round!!! I thought it was some one I hadn`t seen for years, I asked how his family were and was deeply saddened to hear his mum died. I was eaqually suprised to learn his brother got a job in France and it wasn`t until I asked if his sister was still young free and single, the chap smiled and said "I don`t have a sister!" at which point I had to ask, "Do we know each other?"........... LOL or what

The phenomenon is known by a particular name in psychology, but we often do it.

This is largely a reality testing question, as your new friend likely behaves towards as if you are the other person and did as the other person did.

A new friend. How lucky for you. As to the reason why, I wouldn't concern myself about it, I would certainly enjoy it.
