If you have a chemical imbalance in yout brain that could be the reason for your temporary depression....but "don't feed the beast" (This is how my ex put it)...because dwelling on it will make it worse.

I had depression when I was your age. You will get through it -- do all you can to not take antidepressants! This is just a stage in your life, I promise you will get through it if you try.
Eating healthy, whole foods and exercise regularly will make all the difference, if you are not doing those things already. Start keeping a journal -- just write whatever you want in it, feelings ,random thoughts, what happened that day - what ever you feel like. Try to keep busy with things you enjoy, and limit stressful stuff, school, extra acitivites.
Make a list of everything good in your life. Keep talking to your mom. (-= Smile.

I don't know...sometimes I think I might be depressed but I can't decide cuz I'm a really happy person, I'm normally always happy, I have two awesome very good friends and other friends but when I'm alone.. ALL I do is think of the horrible things in my life. Like drama at school, people I don't like, and whatever is bothering me.
I hate it.
But yah I think I have the same problem as you..

Yes - your mom is right. I have a daughter who has suffered from depression for years.
Ask your mom to take you to your doctor. They will have you fill out a long questionaire and then they will determine if you are depressed or anxious and to what degree.
It's better to get treatment and start to feel good than to let it go and be miserable.
Good luck!

I've been there. It is possible, and you need to get help now, before it gets any worse. It won't just go away on its own. You might not need medication, but counseling goes a long way. Have your mom call your doctor for advice. Or talk to your school counselor. They can give you information on who to talk to. And they will take you seriously.

Not only is it possible, it's common. Many teens go through this phase with the help of hormones.
