Well, Polaris, you pushed some hot buttons with this one, didn't you? I think any psychologist worth his salt, or her salt for that matter, would tell you that liberals loath the military because it has authority figures. We're talking about the "no rules" type of liberal who started their lifelong rebellious philosophy with resisting the first authority figures they knew, their parents. Thus, theirs' is the "NO! I WON'T CLEAN MY ROOM!!" school of thought. The paradox is the fact that they model their politics after the party that had the most brutal authority figures in the history of the modern world, the communists. Perhaps it is that constant inner struggle that makes their ideas so irrational and clouds their ability to think clearly and logically. Why anyone would consider having characters like the Clintons, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Kerry and Michael Moore as the epitome of leadership of their political party is a question for the psychiatrists. It defies logic and reason.

The military is only an arm of our government. The great minds who forged this great country were not military men and they had the great wisdom to have a government made of civilians to which the military obeys.
What is your obsession with the military? We are great because of our laws and the military is to obey those laws.
In many countries the military takes over the government. In those countries the constitution means nothing. I hope that does not happen here in the USA.
Rome was a republic governed by civilians until it became so indebted to the generals that they end up controlling who was the emperor. Of course, by then Rome was not a republic but an empire.
Rome was a republic for about 450 years, then it became an empire for another 450 or so years.
History will show how long the American empire lasts.

Liberals do not hate the Military, in fact there are thousands of liberals currently serving in the Armed Forces. Liberals have always been supportive to the military. However, liberals do not support President Bush's decision to enter Iraq. Bush has repeatedly lied to the American people, particularly about the reasons for going to war.
Yet the neocons, ignore the facts and try to say that liberals do not support the troops. Neocons are nothing but liars, and they are a big threat to America.
The Neocons patriotism is based on lies. And they are huge threat to the security of our nation.

"Liberals" don't 'loathe' the U.S. military.
"Liberals" are peace-loving patriots who love their country and don't want to see it destroyed by war-mongering 'conservatives' who see an opportunity to make a buck.
This 'war' is an unconstitutional, illegal, unjustifiable, immoral attack on another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
This 'war' is - and was, from Day One - all about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. The Bush administration liked to Congress, hoodwinked the American people, and conned our valiant U.S. soldiers into believing there was honorable purpose in this insanity. In fact, 675,000 Iraqis and 3,800 U.S. soldiers have given lives so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful.
The number-one non-military 'benchmark' Bush is pushing for in Iraq provides for the surrender of two-thirds of Iraq's oil fields to private, foreign 'big oil' corporations, which means Iraq would give up their most valuable economic resource. **
We will be "in" Iraq for decades - perhaps generations - until every drop of OIL has been sucked out of Iraq's sands. If that's not the case, WHY is the U.S. building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site overlooking the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration?
If that's not the case, WHY is Halliburton building fourteen (yes - 14!) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq?
The conservatives and the liberals BOTH know this, but none have the integrity or courage to stand up and hold our government's feet to the fire. This is by far the worst United States scam ever perpetrated on any people of the world.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all their war-mongering friends deserve a special oil-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell where they can rot for eternity, along with:
* all 535 members of the most arrogant, contemptible, evil, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Republican-led Congress in U.S. history that stood by and let Bush run rip shod over our Constitution -and-
* all 535 members of the most arrogant, contemptible, evil, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Democratic-led Congress in U.S. history which promised to end this insane 'war' if elected, and - to date - have done nothing to honor that promise. -RKO- 09/15/07

What is it about conservatives like you that makes them lie?
Liberals and Democrats don't loathe the military at all. This is an old lie from Jerry Falwell that was proven to be a lie 20 years ago - people like you are still trying to get mileage and in the process divide and destroy the greatest country on Earth. If you don't love and respect your fellow Americans, even those with different political beliefs - YOU ARE NOT PATRIOTIC!!!

Not necesarily that.
The military teaches and demands loyalty, personal responsibility, sacrifice, working together, following orders, obeying rules and regulations. This directly opposes the disrespect for others , the "me first" attitude, the "let someone else do it' and "me be responsibile?" attitide the libs seem to believe in.

Idiots who pretend to be patriots and chortle insane crap about being the only supporters of the military when they belong to a party that has spent the last few years trying to cut VA spending to the bone, and in a time of war at that is what liberals despise
I'm sorry.,skippy, but myself and the millions of other Democratic veterans in this country are tired of idiots like you who get off on the deaths of American soldiers so you can fulfill your idiotic G.I.Joe fantasies.

Another sweeping generalization from the scholars of P&G.
As a liberal, I don't loathe anything about the military. I despise the way government has used it throughout my lifetime.
Since your question is ridiculous, I'll give you a ridiculous example to articulate my point. If a president sent our troops to Antarctica to fight glacial melting and thousands died of hypothermia, I would be extremely angry. It doesn't mean I hate soldiers or envy their "real manliness or womanliness," it means I disagree with the irresponsible use of our citizens serving in the armed forces.
