OK then. Th e answer is simple.
You take -4+(-6)-8=. First you take -4 and -6 if they are both negative(-) than you add 4+6=10 and just add the negative sign(-). Then you subtract 8 which is basically adding 8 more to the negative side. Which is -18. For example take the number line for example: -18,-17,-16,-15,-14,-13,-12,-11,-10,-9,-8,-7,-6,-5,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, and so on.
so take the -4 and "add" 6 more to the negative side; it's just like subtracting the number then that answer is -10, then "subtract" 8 from it and the answer is -18.

Integers are tough.
-4 + -6 - 8, start left to right with -4 + -6
The rule is if the signs are the same you add and keep the sign, if the signs are opposite you subtract and keep the sign of the bigger number.
So -4 + -6 = -10
Now we have -10 - 8, the rule here is to add the opposite or keep change opposite. Then follow the rules for adding integers.
Keep the -10, change - to +, and change 8 to its opposite or -8.
We get -10 + -8, the signs are the same so add = -18
Keep trying, when you learn to multiply and divide it's easy to confuse all the rules, so you have to be sure you have adding and subtracting down before you move on.

when the two intergers have the same +/- you simple add them but when they are different it does get tricky you see when you have a -10 and u are subtracting it by a positve number like 8 your actually subtracting and getting a negative but when the positive number is larger then the negative nuber you get a positive answer -15+23=+8
neg+neg= neg
neg+pos= +/-
pos+pos=pos
