With so much information and news out now, we should all be more aware of the wars/ rumors of war. But let's think a minute: We were lied to about why we went to war, let alone the fact that there was not, according to the our Constitution, an official DECLARATION of WAR. Think, Congress did not declare war, Bush did; but Congress let him move forward. Now ask yourself why? (9/11) was a kickoff to the rumor of war.

From its very first day, this 'war' was about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. The government lied to its citizens, hoodwinked our Congress, and conned courageous soldiers into believing there was honorable purpose in attacking another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
675,000 Iraqis have died, and 3,800 U.S. soldiers have sacrificed their lives so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers could become wealthier and more powerful.
The number-one non-military 'benchmark' Bush is pushing is that Iraq surrender two-thirds of its oil fields to private, foreign 'big oil' corporations. Unlike Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Iran - all of whom control their own oil drilling and extraction - Iraq is expected to give up a preponderance of its most valuable resource, all so the Bush-Cheney oil associates can reap billions more in profits. **
This is not only obscene and unforgivable, it is against everything that's honorable, just and decent about the United States of America.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all their war-mongering friends deserve a special oil-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell where they can rot for eternity along with:
* all 535 members of the most incompetent, contemptible, arrogant, cowardly, corrupt Republican-led Congress in U.S. history which turned its back as Bush ran rip shod over our Constitution -and-
* all 535 members of the most incompetent, contemptible, arrogant, cowardly, corrupt Democratic-led Congress in U.S. history which promised to end this war if elected, and - to date - has done absolutely nothing to keep that promise.

You got it! During war time (if this really can be consider a war since congress has not declared it so), the executive branch tends to exert undo influence and can turn the media into nothing more than a propaganda machine. It happened before and it is happening to an even greater extent today.
Please read up on "PEAK OIL" and "Professor Steven Jones" in order to learn more about why we invaded and we now occupy the Middle East. Newtonian mechanics is at odds with the 9/11 Commission Report, yet PBS and all the other networks are falling into lock step with the offical story.

your right. It's hard to distinguish if the news we're getting on TV is legit considering the government runs the media and can choose whats airs and what doesn't. I've heard of linktv before. I've heard it to be a great news source. As to why our soldiers are fighting...They feel they have to protect their families so they go over to Iraq to duke it out with people who feel the same way as US soldiers do, only in a tad more maniacal way. It's just a person's opinion on how they perceive what they read/watch about the war.

You're absolutely right. I'm constantly amazed at how many people can so easily get so pumped full of the hype and crap they are fed on the news, and ignore the plain and simple facts. Like the fact that this is an illegal and undeclared war.
