Do I have to sign new reantal lease?

Here's part of the lease.

I'm confused. It says my lease will automatically become month-to-month, but then the latter part says the owner will not allow month-to-month.

It's saying that if the landlord does not want to go with month-to-month he must give the tenant 30 days notice of the requirement to sign a new lease.
