I have 500 to 600 square feet of ceiling that needs to be removed

Plan on $15 to $25 per square foot for asbestos removal. If it's not damaged, it might be best to leave it alone and cover with sheetrock.

It is VERY expensive, not only the physical removal but the protection to keep the dust from going everywhere, then the disposal in an 'approved' landfill. MOST people just cover it up, leaving it under a good coat of paint or other sealing material. Call your local area government and they will send someone out to give you some alternatives.

It's very expensive as they have to have suits and respirators> Call for quotes>>The big cost is disposal as it has to go to a hazardous waste site>
