The "Burn Baby Burn" is associated with the Watts Riots in 1965, which rioters chanted to taunt police. It does not have a true "author." "Violence is as American as cherry pie" is associated with H. Rap Brown.

However, the words "Burn Baby Burn" is currently owned by the widow of former Black Panther Huey Newton, who secured copyright control over the phrase. She is marketing a BBQ sauce these days, fittingly titled "Burn Baby Burn" to support the Huey P. Newton Foundation. Newton helped found the Black Panthers in Oakland, California with Bobby Seale.
