if x=2, y=-1, and z=3.....
evaluate nine times x squared times y divided by three times z.

Trying to stump the class...the person who stumps get the extra points...

What would be a good problem to stump my algebra class...I am throwing numbers out there and it seems you guys are just to smart...I really want to stump my class!!!

(9x^2)(y/3z)

First: substitute the numbers with the corresponding variables.

(9[2]^2)(-1/3[3])

Sec: simplify the expression into lowest terms.

(9[2][2])(-1/3[3])
(9[4])(-1/9)
(36)(-1/9)
- 36/9
- 4

The expression is

9 x^2 y / 3z

9 x 4 x - 1 / 9 =

-4

The expression is -4

If you meant 9(x^2)(y) / 3z, then the answer is -4.

= 9yx^2 / 3z
= (9 * - 1 * 2^2) / (3 * 3)
= - 36 / 9
= - 4

9x^2 * (y/3z) = 9(4) * ((-1)/(3*(3))) = 36 * -1/9 = -4
