Hi. I'm trying to replace a Citroen AX Speedo cable, but it goes along the back of the dashboard from the instument panel and presumably through the bulkhead somewhere. However, I can't find where it goes from behind the instrument panel, or even the end that goes into the gearbox. Can anyone help me locate it?

Hi. I'm trying to replace a Citroen AX Speedo cable, but it goes along the back of the dashboard from the instument panel and presumably through the bulkhead somewhere. However, I can't find where it goes from behind the instrument panel, or even the end that goes into the gearbox. Can anyone help me locate it?
It is a mechanical Speedo, and does not have cruise control.

silly american answer above me.
never seen an ax with cruise control....
i take it you got a snow blowing model .i.e 1.0, 1.1, 1.4
this is a TU engine, the speedo is the black chunky cable in the back of the instrument panel, wiggle it free, you need to undo the clocks from the dash first to access it.
on facing the front of the car the gear box is on the left, near where it meets the engine block you should again see the chunky black cable going vertically into the box, squeeze to release. trace the cable to the bulkhead, it goes through a black grommet and is hard to miss

hi tell your uncle its on the right of the engine while he's taking it of it is the right conceal with all the nuts & bolts all around it . while he places the recent head gasket returned on make confident he tighends the nuts up allternatley no longer the subsequent one and so on different clever he won't get a real tighning & it is going to blow returned DONT PAY that form of money you have been asked for its a CON all the wonderful

If you have a speedo cable it will go to the cruise control module. Are you sure it is not electronic with only a wire ?
