If I get hired full time, roughly how much should I expect to make?

I'm not asking for a raise now, just thinking about whether I would actually make more money if the job goes full time.

In 6 years of working human resources I have only offered a temp to hire employee more money than the agency was giving them 2 or 3 times (and this was only because I didn't realize the agency had gone against my wishes and had been paying the employee less than market wage).

Paying for temporary employees is hugely expensive. In my area (Portland, OR) the lowest deal I have found these days is 58% premium (so whatever the temp makes add 58% to it and that is what I pay per hour to the agency) and no placement fee to hire the employee myself after 520 billable hours (about 3 months of them working through the agency).

If I am going to hire someone on my payroll why would I pay them more than what the agency paid them since I am now assuming payroll taxes, work comp premiums, benefit premiums, etc for the employee? See what I mean? :)

You can't ask for what they're currently paying the temp service for you to be there (which is generally $5 higher than what you're making) but realistically I'd ask for a dollar and a half higher and see how that goes over.

because you are coming in through a temp agency, and they are really getting paid probably $15 an hr. for you you will probably not get that $15, they will probably keep on paying you what they are paying you right now. Good luck. I hate temp agencies, just another middle man!
