Gnomes Brownies Mermaids or Sirens Giants Trolls Naiads (Water ymphs) Tomte - The tomte is a tiny, bearded old man who resides with farms in Scandinavia. They are easily offended, and must be appeased with gifts, lest they cause mischief or misfortune around the farm. Some people believed the tomte to be connected with the devil. Harpies - Harpies are creatures with the bodies of birds and heads of human women. They’re generally associated with creepiness and death, though some texts refer to them as “lovely-haired”. We don’t really see it. Centaurs - Centaurs have the body of a horse and the torso and head of a human male. Minotaur - The Minotaur is essentially a man with a bull’s head, but there’s a great story behind the species-mixing madness. I hope that some of these helped! Thanks, Cordelia

Lots of creatures from Norse mythology can make themselves appear as humans if they want: giants, trolls, that sort of thing. Huldra and their ilk would appear as human but might have cow's tails or some other kind of tail.

Sirens are believed to have lured sailors to death with their voices. Have you ever seen The Odessy? Of course none of this is true. It is only myth.

Vampires, also known as Vamps. Vamps rock; make sure you don't see anyone drink blood, or they're a vampire!
