I've seen references to an International Peace Day on Sep 21 ... and Pinwheels for Peace program being promoted in the schools. http://www.pinwheelsforpeace.com/

I clicked on some links within to see the source and found the Peace One Day campaign, launched by film maker Jeremy Gilley
in 1999. The campaign, which has won support from Nobel Peace Laureates, artists, musicians,
religious and political leaders and millions of people around the world aimed to make
September 21st an International Day of Peace, an annual day of global ceasefire and
non-violence. Officially recognised by the UN General Assembly in 2001.

Who are these people and what is their plan?

I'm concerned about the underside of a seemingly harmless pinwheel in our schools.

Your thoughts?

Now I am upset. I just got an e-mail telling me that September 21st is National Alzheimers Awareness Day. So which is it?

I don't know but I'd like to interject a relative issue if I may . In several other earlier wars , American soldiers often held their own ceasefire on Christmas day . In fact , enemy soldiers often did the same and sometimes the two forces would join in celebration for Christmas . They mutually appreciated their common bond . Love .

Today , however , we are fighting pure evil which is also the very definition of 'absence of Love' . So while the idea of International Peace Day is a good one , unfortunately it cannot be observed with the Radical Islamist Terrorists .

It will be interesting to see if the terrorists around the world stop on this day. During WWI my grandfather told me of a Christmas day when no shooting was done. But to me the terrorists of today will not stop and just use this day as a day to attack us to force us to respond in kind and then have the mainstream media and far left condemn us and not the terrorists. I wonder if the groups proposing this have any ties to the communist, socialist, etc groups of old that pushed these plans during the Vietnam War with other plans to degrade us.

Someone said we are fighting "pure evil". Honey, that is what they told us when we were fighting the communists too. Don't believe the lines that are just fed to you.

As for Peace Day, sounds good to me; I'm not too worried about the dark underbelly of a peace pinwheel..

Yes, how terrible it would be for there to be a day on which not one life were lost in armed conflict. I would never be able to live in such a world.

Not sure who is behind it, but rest assured it's some hippie-liberal. A day celebrating peace is wonderful. We should have them every day. But only a liberal would think a terrorist would put his/her suicide vest in the closet, for observance of International Peace Day.

I'll bet it's a bunch of Hippie Liberal Commie Pot Smokers who don't understand that we need to kill people in order to win their hearts and minds....
