One of mine is the "Captain Kangaroo" TV show theme song. It's actually called "Puffin' Billy" by Edward G. White, circa 1955.
I usta have Andy Griffith back in the early/mid-80's when there were so many re-runs on local TV.
Shave & A Haircut? Still active! And don't forget the two bits!
Now.....
You are one of the lucky ones who is tuned-in to their psyche.
Most of us have some simple tunes from our infant and youthful days permanently embedded in our collective memories, from a time when our brains were still growing.
And when they return, it's usually in response to some mild daily stress. It helps us to stimulate a tiny, but necessary memory of a time when our lives were less complicated.
Your question says alot about you, and about our human characteristics.
There are some really potentially violent adults lurking about out there, on a street near you, who had a very deprived or abusive childhood who have few, if any, good childhood memories to rely on for those tiny little necessary triggers to deal with their unique stresses. If they did, they may also hum "Andy Griffith" instead of contemplating bashing that 12-year-old neighborhood girl's head in the next time she rode by.........
Consider yourself "lucky.

"Meditation" by Antonio Carlos Jobim is the one that I hum and even play on my piano. I first heard it on my television while watching the weekly series of "Run For Your Life." The star was Ben Gazzarra who was dying of a terminal illness. He had the best rip roaring time for the duration of the shows until that final time, which I didn't watch. That song still stays with me. It is phenomenal. Peace, Love and God Bless.
