hi how do you book for a room in a hotel in australia ... say one night u go out and don't want to come home. Can you just pay them cash ? or will you need a credit card ? im living in sydney looking for hotel around the city. i have cash and can't be bother to get a credit card ... any help is appreciated =)

There are some hotels that will not deal in cash. You can use EFTPOS or a credit card. Ring a couple of hotels in the area you are likely to be looking for a room and ask.

You can normally pay cash but they will probably ask for a bond of maybe $100 that you will get back on departure

My wife and I decided not to go home one night and just rocked up to the swissotel. I'm pretty sure we just paid with EFTPOS.
