I like my house cool, so I wait until it's in the low 60's or 50's outside to turn the thermostat up. But I live in Carson City NV, near Lake Tahoe. It gets pretty cold here and when it does, I am always turning it up when I come in from the cold , then down before bedtime. I'm not very conservative with energy but I just HAVE to be comfortable. (You should see my bills for summer air conditioning!)
Hope you stay warm this winter!

Put on a sweater or use a blanket.....wait till it gets down to 60 or 55. Save some $$$ do you know how much it costs to heat a house!!!??! I'd rather wear more clothes then be broke!

I set the thermostat for 60 but turn on the heater when I get cold. It depends on the humidity but usually between64 and 67 degrees.

set the thermost to 70-72 degrees if a lower temperture suits you use it,it is more effecient to keep the temperture stable than to try to heat up a cold structure
