Should we outlaw this practice? This is what is used by the special interest groups, the "designated victim groups," and other politically connected groups to harm everybody else.

Should we make it illegal to lobby the government to take actions that steal from other people (usually the taxpayers) for the gain of a select few?

By using the word "steal", you have answered your own question. Aside from national defense, which is different because one benefits from it even if they do not want it.....government programs should be paid for by the people that use them or want them, or voluntary donations. Anything else is legalized theft. The "government" is not a remote entity from outer space. It is just another word for "your neighbor" and if one believes his neighbor should be forced to pay for programs he does not want or believe in , one might as well knock on one's neighbor's door and ask for the handout directly. It would cut out the middle man and save a fortune in administrative expenses. Those that want to heavily tax "Mr Rich Man" somehow think he will fore go his vacation or next new car. No way! He merely adds it to the cost of his product or service and the little guy pays for it anyway plus the administrative costs.

Well, in the first place, Congress does not have the power to do this.
(The Constitution gives Congress only about 20 powers.
The power to outlaw speech is not among them, and is explicitly forbidden by the First Amendment. Lobbying is political speech. So is "petitioning for redress of grievances".)

However, stealing from others is also not a power granted to Congress, by the Constitution. Yet, they do so.

So maybe one wrong deserves another.

There is a misconception that all our tax money goes to pay for goods and services when in fact the fed income and social security taxes do not.

these are used to pay on the national debt which we shouldn't be having to pay. the federal reserve act of 1913 was illegal. the moneymasters (aka bankers) are pocketing this money. in fact the government of the usa has the right to coin money and determine the value there of without interest. they have illegally delegated it to the bankers.

the fed reserve act was passed by 3 people I believe due to others being gone (legally congress was still in session) due to christmas vacation.

the money masters have been guilty of intrigue beyond imagination to get what they want. and this is just one tool they use to manipulate the governments to do what they want adn that is oppress people and take their property by force.

It is illegal to tax private property (wages are private property) income was defined in older dictionaries as profit from business ventures. they taxed only unearned income, and excise taxes and some sales taxes. these type of taxes funded the government very well before 1913. since then this country has gone downhill and it has accelerated.

Alexander Hamilton stood for that very point. He got voted down.

Ever since then, the notion of robbing Peter (the taxpayer) to pay Paul (the special group of the day) has been a recurring problem.

Its already illegal to accept bribes.
Your problem is some of those special interest groups include everything from AIDS activists looking for equal treatment at work, to Doctors without Borders, to family farmers, to new mothers, to the Religious Right and Veterans organizations.
In short, just about everyone could lay claim to being a special interest.
The biggest lobbyists are the biggest corporations, Exxon and the oil men come to mind. It wouldn't hurt to limit their influence, far more than any welfare program, our giveaways to them cost us billions.

"Should it be illegal to use the Government to steal from others for your own gain?"

Yes, because if it was illegal, the oil companies and the military industrial complex would have to make their own money, rather than steal 1/2 a trillion dollars from the American people... in the name of a phoney war.

Yes...theft is theft no matter how you dress it up. I believe most responsible Americans would voluntarily support the better programs or find way's to fund them privately.

"steal" is an emotive word for "tax" isn't it?
it is the job of democratically elected govts to tax and provide services for people, including groups. the notion of making governments' prime function illegal is ridiculous, i'm afraid.

your statement could be construed as agreeing with the idea that the govt can't tax me to pay the wages of soldiers and police...
