My ex-husband use to do this to me all the time and thought it was funny, my 5 year old son is doing it to me know. For me, it's a pet peeve!!

Depends on who is doing the slapping..but having a kid doing that would really chap my butt for sure..Tell the kid to quit ..its not nice to slap mommy.

Don't let your son copy his dad. Sounds to me like your ex was using the 'friendly' bum-slap trick as en excuse to abuse you. Tell your child that it is NOT funny and that you'll slap his butt back if he does it again. (And if he does, then do it - it's not a threat - once should be enough to underline that you mean what you say.) Don't let him grow up thinking this sort of behaviour is OK because it's not - so put a stop to it NOW before he gets any older. If you're divorced then your child is mixed up & probably doing it for the same reason your husband did...he's angry and wants to get at you. One day, with a bit of luck, your ex will slap the wrong behind and find himself in Court.

I totally hate it, but for a different reason! I'm a diabetic and take insulin shots 3-4 times a day and that's the only place I can give them to myself so yeah! A slap on the @ss is NOT appreciated by me!

Yessssssss !!!! It shows total disrespect !!! My husband use to do it but he learned not to real quick !!!!!! Don't let him do it anymore and sit down and talk to your son about why he shouldn't do it before you are sitting in front of a counselor doing it !!!!!
