Usually the O2 sensor will be located in the exhaust system close to the engine exhaust manifolds. Open your hood and look at both sides of the engine's exhaust manifolds and front down pipes. You will see what looks like a 3 - 4 inch cylindrical shaped silver component with either one or two wires coming out of it. Unplug it and using either a 7/8 line wrench or a specialty O2 sensor socket remove the sensor. NOTE: This sensor will come out easier if the engine is relatively warm. The new sensor - if it doesn't have anti-seize compound on the threads, you should daube a tiny bit on the threads only. Don't go crazy with the amount of anti-seize you put on. Tighten the new sensor firmly, do not Gorilla Grip it. Plug in the sensor and happy motoring!

PS - see how mechanics love to rip people off LOL

it is not annoying. there's a definite gadget you should purchase that is going around the sensor yet with a hollow for the wires. yet I definitely have a trick to that's going to paintings with a customary set of wrenches do away with the sensor's electric powered plug from the relationship. then trim off only adequate of the plastic off the plug on the top of the sensor, which you would be able to wiggle a field wrench over it and down on the sensor. use the open wrench to work out what length you decide on, then use the field wrench because of the fact you decide on an excellent kind of leverage to pry that ingredient out of the exhaust. if that's offering you with worry, placed a length of pipe over the different end of your wrench and shop pulling. in case you have have been given the truck lifted as much as do this make helpful that's finished securely cuz you're extremely going to would desire to tug to get that ****** out of there. they get fairly caught cuz of the warmth

It is located on the exhaust system towards the front of the car. It looks like a probe sticking in the exhaust tube. It has a couple of wires out the back of it, and has a nut near the exhaust port. You might need a special socket, many parts stores will loan/rent them to you.

good luck.
