Surely the McCanns would rest on their laurels? Or would it be a ploy to see if they slip up? I dont get it.

The P.J. are being very,very shady. We should not underestimate them.They have taken their time up to now, they are making sure that they have a cast iron case before they arrest their suspects, this, according to a friend of mine who lives in Portugal, is their usual way of doing things, they get convictions in most of the cases that they bring to court !

Because they do not have enough concrete evidence against them. The tourist industry has suffered quite a bit, and they may just be fed up with people criticising the PJ for their ineptness. OR they may have legitimate reasons to believe the Mcanns are not telling the truth. They may have a huge amount of evidence against them, but somehow I think not. It would have been made public by now and they would have been arrested. Whatever the outcome now, we will never truly know if the Mcanns did have a hand in their daughters demise, or if it is a set up to discredit them and make the PJ look good. What I do know, is that even if the PJ decide not to prosecute, the Mcanns life will NEVER be the same again. There will always be people who believe they did it, and those who believe they have been set up. At the end of the day, they have lost their daughter. OK through their own stupid behaviour, but they have to live with that. What I would not be able to tolerate, is if their is ENOUGH secure and concrete evidence to prove they did do it - how on earth could they go through all the media hype !!!! it would take someone with a lot of bottle to keep that up.

I've had the feeling for a while now that the PJ are indulging in psychological warfare to rattle the McCanns. These leaks are for a definite reason, you can bet on it. The problem we have is that we don't know what real evidence they've got. They won't leak that I'm sure.

I agree with Bert. a friend of mine who lives in Portugal said the exact same thing the Portuguese police are a lot smarter than you think they try to wear you down by giving out these leaks to the media.

Because they don't have enough evidence to accuse them of any crime.
So, I think it's fair that in the least they have a confession from the suspects...
