It's not so much which you do as where you do it. Working at a dealer especially a luxury car dealer pays the best. Companies like BMW Mercedes Jag. exc. You have to be good and will probably have to start with a relatively low pay while you go to special training through the manufacture and or dealer. When your done you will make good money and have the best resources to back you up when a difficult job ends up in your stall.

Talk to some master techs or long time bodymen and get their input on payscale and job requirements. Some techs can make 70k or more per year with high amount of schooling and tools...some body men I know make that as well but are very fast and efficient workers able to work on three or four cars at a time to minimize downtime and are exceptional at doing welding and sheetmetal repairs versus replacement---they are really artists at their craft. Insurance and warranty work both come with drawbacks and tradeoff's or inequity in pay and figure on spending at least 6-10 years or more in any trade to become proficient enough at it to qualify for a good salary. Lots of guys do side work as well to supplement their income. It all boils down to what really gets you up in the morning and look forward to doing and what really intrigues you. Pay isn't everything if you're miserable.

I hated the activity regardless of the shown fact that. save vendors are often journeyman mechanics and ought to appreciate lots approximately approximately what their doing.
