Home made waterbed treatment?

My husband and I just bought a waterbed from someone, and there's non of the treatment left in the box of supplies that came with it. I don't think I can find any at my local Walmart either! Is there anything else that could work like bleach or chlorine tablets? And how much would I use?

Doing this could damage the mattress especially if it is the limited motion type with baffles in it. Check with bedding stores.
