Take it back.

Tell em you paid good money for nuts, and you want a packet that says
DEFINITELY contains nuts :-)

Wrong category!

Food standards rubbish, it is ridiculous that a company producing Nuts has to put "May Contain Nuts" on the packets of nuts they sell.

All because they would be sued by some idiot claiming there was no warning other wise.

You are not missing anything: you are suffering "Compensation Lawyer Syndrome", a thing invented in America, and implemented by judges who have lost their common sense to the point that law suits in America (and now pretty well implanted in UK and spreading to the continent) have reached a level far beyond the ridicule.
I am surprised that kitchen knives do not bare the mention "can cause severe cuts", and that do-gooders have not sued the governments to vote a law requiring every cook to have a licence "to bare arms"...
You can now sue a car manufacturer for your crash because "you did not know" that "cruise drive" is not the same as "autopilot"... (unless the manual says so).
Think the same for everything else: you can't carry a nail clipper with you on a plane: it is a lethal weapon.
Yeah!
"Pilot! Go to WhateverCountry... or ... I'll clip your nails..."
I am tempted to say "LOL".
I can't. I cry.

Is this lucky dip for food as the packet may contain nuts but you may pick out a mango , melon or something else ?

thats like having a cup of coffee from mcdonalds and it says this may be hot and its on the underside or its written from top to bottom so you have to read it top to bottom not left to right as most people read left to right not top to bottom.

btw no offence to mcdonalds but I prefer burger king or a steak house.

Or like when you go to mcdonalds and you HAVE to ask for a MC chicken sandwhich it cant be a chicken burger or a chicken sandwhich as they dont do chicken sandwhiches its a MC chicken sandwich LOL

That is because maybe it doesn't contain nuts. It just says "may" contain nuts. ;-)

Actually it is because of the allergies to peanuts. They are just protecting themselves against stupid people.

That's just in case an incredibly stupid moron who's allergic to nuts doesn't realize
