The change in x is 7 and in y is 12.

Half of each is 3.5 and 6

so at the midpoint x = -3 + 3.5 = 0.5 = 4 -3.5
and 7 = 7 - 6 = 1 = -5 + 6

(0.5,1) is the midpoint

(The line is 3.5y + 6x = 6.5 or 7y + 12x = 13)

The easiest way would be to draw a diagram, draw a line, and find the middle of that line.

Algebraically, it's still pretty simple. If we use the laws of vectors, we can see that to get to the second point from the first, we need to go up 7, and across 12. So if we only want to go halfway, we'd only need to go up 3.5 and across 6. If we do that from the first point, we'd end up at (-3+3.5,7-6)=(0.5,1) the midpoint.

x=4-3/2=1/2
y=7+5/2=6
the mid point is(1/2, 6)ANS.

add -3 to 4 and divide by two and that is x

then add 7 to -5 and that is y

(-3,7) and (4,-5)

xm=(x1+x2)/2=(-3+4)/2=1/2
ym=(y1+y2)/2=(7+-5)/2=1

midpoint coordinates are 1/2 and 1
