I apologise if this is a rather legal answer, but I am a lawyer.

When most people speak of a judge's wig, they think of the long wigs shown on the telly and as seen in the ebya advert posted above.
These are called 'full bottom' wigs.
Judges only wear these on ceremonial occasions such as the State Opening of Parliament or the procession of Judges at the beginning of the legal year.
They don't wear them in court (despite what many comedy shows might have you believe).

In court, (in those trials in which wigs and gowns are required) Judges wear short wigs, very simialr to those worn by barristers.
There are subtle difference and they look quite different side by side, but if shown just one, I very much doubt if anyone could say which was which. ,

So, I you want a wig that looks very much like an actual judge's wig, get a brristers wig. Wigs have been abolished for all civil hearings from jan 2008 - there'll be plenty on Ebay after that.

Ede and Ravenscroft in Chancery Lane, London WC2 will make you a barrister's wig for about £350, a 'proper' judges wig for about £500 and a full-bottomed wig for something over £1,000.

Otherwise get a false one from the various outlets suggested by the other replies

Told you it was a bit legal....

They're called "coifs." In the US you can probably get a cheap wool or cotton copy from a theatrical costumer.

There are still one or two shops in London that make genuine bleached horsehair originals. I understand they are quite expensive. You might be able to find them on-line. Or contact the British Law Society or one of the British "Inns of Court." Do a Yahoo search. Maybe someone's selling an old one on e-bay.

Lol!!! Try a local fancy dress/joke shop - they may have them there, or search on ebay. What on earth would you want with a judges wig?? Lol :-)

If you are very rich, you may no doubt buy one from the official suppliers for such things http://www.gownhire.co.uk/(hl0w5oqz3nvtxeftsqda0p55)/index.aspx. I don't imagine that they hire them out, as they do barristers' wigs and gowns. You would be better off going to theatrical costumiers such as these http://www.baththeatrical.co.uk/.
