Actually, if you do what an actor is supposed to do when he acts and that is to be the character, you will not have stage fright, because the character does not have it. What happens when people have stage fright is that they stop being the character and instead of thinking like the character thinks, they think like they, the actor, thinks. Then they make all kinds of errors in their perforamces. But if they are really acting , they have no problems. To learn more about what acting really is write me at my aol address in my profile.

I'm involved with Drama and acting and I don't really get alot of stagefright because I'm having fun, but if you want to get rid of it just keep talking to people and breathing deeply. I remember my first play I did and I got really nervous but I know it sounds crazy but I talked to my friends before the show nonstop! It worked because you know they want you to do your best and they will support you! Just think when you're up there...they're here to watch you! And have fun listening to what you have to say and they want you to succeed!

for my first show i had stagefright. Heres what you do. and don't picture the audience in underwear. if it is a big theater, look up with only your eyes, don't look straight at the audience. If this is a small show and you can see and family memeber or friend focus your attention on them

It helps a lot to take a class in public speaking.
When addressing people in public, look for people you know and speak directly to them. If that's not possible, pick out a friendly face or two and speak directly to them. Also practise in front of a mirror.

The more you preform the less you will be afraid, and to avoid smiling in an embarresd sort of way just don't look at the people you really know, it's really akward...

Just tell yourself that you will do your best and everyone will like you. That's what I did. Look for support from other actors or whomever, friends, family, etc. Hope I helped!
