Do you think the Montreal Canadians will make the playoffs this year? And why?

Honestly, I don't see it happening.

They have a handful of younger guys (early-mid twenties), but no standout performers. Saku Koivu and Alexei Kovalev are old and injury prone.

I haven't followed hockey as closely lately as in the past, but unless there are one or two players on that team who are a secret force to be reckoned with, I don't see how they would make it.

yes they will make the playoffs the tradition of the montreal canadians is becoming engrained again so many times they have been counted out before the season tghey have a young team no superstars but they will have 5 30 goal scorers and the last 12 games of the season the defence will come together and they will acquire a a seasoned tender who will p,lay the games of his life the old guys less ice time because the younger players will know thier destiny both the old guys carrer highs for points and at least 100 less penalty minutes they are for real the ghosts will not allow another poor season from there team

I beleive the Montreal Canadiens will finish in 9th place.

Too many teams in the eastern conference have become stronger in the offseason.

-Carolina will become contenders again.
-Islanders will go down.
-Maple Leafs will become contenders again
-Washington and Philidelphia will both improve tremendously, but i still beleive they wont make the playoffs just yet.
-Pretty much every other team will still either make the playoffs or miss them as they did last year.

Playoff Seeds.

1. Ottawa
2. Pittsburgh
3. Tampa Bay
4. NY Rangers
5. Buffalo
6. New Jersey
7. Toronto
8. Atlanta

|Flames|Fan| !!!!!!!!!!!! You say the Hurricanes will become contenders again, yet in your playoff seeding they aren't in the playoffs!!!!!!!! lmao! You gotta New Jersey out, and put Carolina in. I really don't know whether the Habs will make the playoffs or not, too many good teams in the East to tell right now.

I think they have some talented players but as a team, I don't see anything that tells me they are a shoo-in for the playoffs. But that's just a prediction. Parity, injuries, bad calls, and lucky bounces make anything possible.

No, that team is going nowhere and it's not with Hamrlik and Smolinski that they will win more games. They will help but that won't be enough.

If they do it will be because their goaltending gets them there. Their off season signings weren't exactly stellar.
