EXCELLENT QUESTION MAGIC MAN!!!
Yes we do.
We need to especially have developed self wisdom / self knowledge. To know ourselves; our weaknesses, our strengths, our insecurities.
Real love requires that we are able to SHARE our true selves with another. If we don't know ourselves we are unable to do so.
Trying to love without self wisdom is a futile pursuit.
Those relationships we have prior to learning this, can certainly still be considered a form of love; but they pale in
comparison to a true and mature exchange of love.
Amen

An interesting question........ it is hard to put forward an idea about it.It may vary from person to person;however,it sounds very romantic to love someone without weighing up the pros and cons, because this kind of thinking might wear yourself and as a result your love out.
It is one thing to say ''I love her/him''.............it is quite another to say ''but............''
Sorry,I have no idea about it.
