1..Gases consist of molecules that have little molecular attraction between them and are widely spaced.
They randomly 'dash' about due to their inherent Kinetic Energy, filling the space available to them.
They, therefore can be compressed and pushed closer together into a smaller space.
2..Liquids are considered to be incompressible due to their being closely bonded together by their inter-molecular attraction and compression is almost impossible. At extremely high pressures, a volume of liquid will become very slightly smaller.
3..The molecules of a solid are so closely attracted to each other, they form a mass so dense that their molecules can't be easily disturbed. (In powder form, however, they can be stirred but only by moving the particles of powder around. Each particle (like dust) still has the density of the original solid.
4..As gas molecules are moving around freely, they are constantly colliding with each other and with the sides of their container. Each collision exerts a tiny force which, when compounded into billions of collisions, cause a pressure to be exerted on the internal walls of the container. Increasing their pressure, increases the proximity of the molecules to each other thereby increasing the number of collisions.
5..See answer No. 1.
6..When heated, the addition of the heat energy increases the Kinetic Energy of the molecules causing them to move apart and begin to disrupt their molecular attraction this causes the volume to increase (expansion) and Density to decrease.

1. because the distance between atoms are big , so you can squeeze the distance to a shorter distance to make the volume be small.
2. The distance among liquid is small. In fact. you can squeeze but you need a large force.
3. The atoms are closely tighed/packed in solid. The atrraction force among atoms is too big so when you stir , you cannot seperate atoms.
4. the motion of atom. In fact, solid and gas also have pressure.
5. Gas is free. The atoms keep moving. They diffuses thorought the container.
6. The heat increase the motion of the atoms in solid. They move more frequently so the solid looks as if it expand as the distance between atom increase. Note that the no. of atoms, don't increase

1. because the particles of gas are far apart and so they can be compressed because there is alot of room between the particles.
2. The particles are too close together and there isn't enough room for the particles to be compresed into a smaller volume
3. A solid has a very strong bond between the atos and they are tightly packed together...you can not change a solids shape unless you weaken the bond.
4. sorry forgot this one...google maybe?
5. The bond of gas particles are loosly held together and there is more space inbetween the particles...unlike liquids and solids..
6. The particles in a solid move around more, they vibrate in a fixed position and so it creates more space between the atoms of the solid(note that the actual particles themselves do not expand).
:) hope that helped...

i can give you a overview
Solids and liquids are condensed states. This means that molecules are constrained to be next, whereas in gas dispersed medium , the molecules are not held together and occupy all volume
This is due to a balance of 2 type of interactions : 1) thermal agitation which disperses the molecules and 2) intermolecular forces which held them together
In gases 1) is higher than 2) so the molecules are free to occupy all volumes
In liquids and solids this is not the case
Difference between solid and liquid : molecules are close. But in solid there position is fixed, so you have no freedom and 3 is impossible
The pressure id ue to the energy released by molecules of gases on the containers
When temperature increases, the interactions weaken and molecules are farther one another so volume expand

1 - because it has a lower density than solids or liquids..
2 - because the density is similar to solids, you can, but it very little even with very high pressures.
3 - because the particles are highly packed with each other and it does not appear in free flowing form like gas or liquids.
4 - uhm.. no comment.. lol..
5 - because is particles are very spreaded out and it follows the law of diffusion..
6 - as u heat a solid, the packed particles will gain more kinetic energy thus pushing further away from each other hence expanding the solid.

1.there is a lot of empty space in a gas, the distances between molecules are large,
2.the molecules of a liquid are not too far apart
3.the forces between the molecules of a solid are very strong.
4.the collisions of gas molecules on the walls of the container or any surface inside the gas.
5.the molecules of the gas are almost free of attractive forces due to one on others.
6.the molecules / atoms vibrate with greater amplitudes. at higher temperatures.
