Personally I think Jenson Button should be given the chance. He's a great driver who's had some truly rubbish cars - give him a McLaren and he'll be at the front.

Who would the other choices be? Kubica? Heidfeld? Would Massa leave Ferrari? Or maybe Webber?

Kimi wouldn't go back to McLaren anyway.

The team need a experienced driver with development and support experience, for my money, the obvious choice would be Coulthard.
What Maclaren dont need is another two drivers the calibre of Alonso and Hamilton.
They do need a very hungry driver (which they have in Hamilton) and someone who will support the efforts of the team and Hamilton in their qust for the championship.

Coulthard was, in his day, a championship contender. Today he is an excellent and staedy driver but I believe he has lost the thirst for the championship, yet he has experience which the team wand Hamilton will find invaluable.

I think Jenson would be good, despite his track record he is a good driver, it's just been unfortunate that he hasn't had the best of cars. I would agree That Rubens Barichello would be good and I would also say Robert Kubica is a good choice, he's an awesome driver. I doubt that they could get Massa away from Ferrari but I think he would do well.

Got to be Jenson I think.
No its not cos I'm english (I'm welsh actually) I think he's a good driver and has shown his skills in the past, maybe not through race wins but several pole's with his time at BAR.
Secondly I'd go for Kubica or maybe Del Arosa he's been Mclarens test driver for a while and has shown he's pretty quick now he has a decent car under him and not the Minardi.

Hi i think Jensen button would be a good replacement, but i think Mark webber would be the better option. He is a such a brilliant qualifier and is very unlucky not to ever have had pole position, he is also a great racer also unlucky not to ever had a win, and this season he has once agein proved that he is one of the best with his high qualifying and descent race finishes (the ones that havent been wrecked by his car failing), he is the unluckiest driver in formula 1 and needs a good team to show everyone what he can really do.

Mark Webber rules!!!!!!

Knowing what good friends Robert Kubica and Lewis Hamilton are, the Polish driver would be the perfect team-mate. At least the Poles are very trustworthy.

He's also got talent and has proved very consistent in the BMW.

Jenson would make it an all British line up lol.

I think Jenson would be more than glad to be Lewis team mate, considering the kind of car he's in right now. They would work together very well

Anthony Davidson. He hasn't been given the opportunity to show how good he is. He got the chance once but there was some problem with the car, so he didn't get to score any points.

I think drivers like Anthony and Gary Paffett should be given the chance to drive. They are good and they deserve it.

I would go with rubens or ralf. If the replace alonso then obviously they want hamilton as the number one. Getting a young driver would mean more competition between the two drivers. Getting a more experienced driver would be better so if they were willing, they could give him advice and stuff.

Who'd want to go there knowing that in all probability Hamilton would make them look like a Japanese go-kart driver?
Too many of the current drivers are too comfortable where they are to take that kind of risk...better to work miracles in a c*** car than to be seen to be less than brilliant in the best car.
You'd need to find a has-been who'd be happy as a number 2 or a wannabe who thought he could beat Hamilton.
